Why do the Recovery from Divorce and Broken Relationships Course?
The Recovery from Divorce and Broken Relationships Course is for anyone who
has suffered a breakdown of a marriage or a long-term relationship - however
recently or long ago. The end of a relationship can result in new and unfamiliar
emotions, this six-week course offers the opportunity to learn from past
experiences and understand the issues associated with relationship breakdown.
The Recovery from Divorce and Broken Relationships Course is very practical
and will help you explore your emotional, practical and spiritual needs, helping
you to work towards a happier and more fulfilling future. While the course is
based on Christian principles, you don’t need a church background to enjoy and
benefit from the course. Throughout the course you can benefit from the care,
support, friendship and guidance of others who have been through the breakdown
of a long-term relationship. Confidentiality is our highest priority, and we ask
you to take this seriously; to aid this newcomers cannot join an established
course once it has begun.
What does the Course Cover?
The course format includes both talks and opportunities to discuss the topic.
While you will not be pressured into taking part in the discussion, we will
gently encourage you to do so, as the more you do so, the more you will gain
from the course. As in any self-help group, you will pick up information, help
and support from each other. The course covers the following topics:
- Telling the Story
- Returning to Singleness
- Sorting out your Feelings
- Children
- Coping with Finances and Practicalities
- Looking ahead.
