What is "Crossing Points 2008"?
Two years ago CROSSING POINTS brought together 500 Christians from almost 20 different churches for a short season of interchurch Home-Groups. In 2008 the churches of Tonbridge will once more be joining together in small groups across the town for a series of mid-week meetings involving prayer, worship and bible study. For four weeks we will lay our own church programmes to one side and join together to focus on the Hope that we have in Christ. CROSSING POINTS 2008 is part of the HOPE 2008 initiative in Tonbridge and the surrounding area.
When is it happening?
The four week period will start the week commencing Monday 25th February 2008, which means that CROSSING POINTS will finish during Holy Week. The majority of groups will meet on a Wednesday evening, and we encourage you to sign up for this time if at all possible. There will also be groups available on Monday and Tuesdays evenings and Tuesday and Wednesday mornings for those who are unable to make Wednesday evenings, but these may require you to travel further from home. Ideally, we will try to place you into a group meeting as close as possible to your home with a good mix of different churches represented.
What happens in a CROSSING POINTS group?
A CROSSING POINTS group will usually be made up of between eight and twelve people from a number of different churches, and a meeting will usually run for one and a half to two hours. During this time there may be prayer, meditation, worship, discussion and bible readings as well as time for drinks and chat. Everyone will be encouraged to participate but at no time will you be expected to take part in any activity with which you are uncomfortable.
How do I sign up?
To find out more or to sign up to be a part of a group, pick up a form from Reception or visit the Crossing Points 2008 website www.crossingpoints.org.uk.
