Why do a Marriage Course?
The Marriage Course is for any married couple who wants to work together at
and invest in their relationship, however long you have been married. If you
have a strong marriage this course will help you make it even better and will
reinforce your good habits, if your marriage hasn’t been entirely plain sailing,
it will help you to discuss and work through the issues.
The Marriage Course is very practical and will help equip you with the tools
needed to build a healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. While the course is
based on Christian principles, you don’t need a church background to enjoy and
benefit from the course. The course was developed by Nicky and Sila Lee at Holy
Trinity Brompton, the church which produced the Alpha course. The Marriage
Course at TBC will be hosted by Astrid and Paul Vaswani and Barry and Margaret
Lock, with the teaching on video from Nicky and Sila Lee.
What does the Course Cover?
The
course format includes both talks and opportunities to discuss the topic as a
couple - there is no group work involved at any stage of the course and you will
not be asked to discuss your relationship with the course leaders unless you
specifically choose to. The course covers the following topics:
- Building Strong Foundations
- The Art of Communication
- Resolving Conflict
- The Power of Forgiveness
- Parents and In-Laws
- Good Sex
- Love in Action
Joining a course
The next course starts on 22nd April and will run on seven Tuesday evenings. There will be a small charge to cover course materials and
