Kingfisher ClubKingfisher Club is a Social Club providing activities and friendship for young people with learning disabilities who are secondary school age or above – we have no upper age limit. (We are sorry that we cannot take people with severe behaviour problems / physical disabilities since we do not have the staff to deal with them.)
For further details please contact Barbara Myatt. Causeway Prospects Tonbridge Causeway provides an opportunity for Christian adults and their friends, including those with learning disabilities, to meet and enjoy fellowship together. Our aim is to reach out and minister to people with learning disabilities, encouraging them to become Christians and take their place in the body of Christ. We meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, from 7.30pm to 9.00pm with breaks for Easter, Summer and Christmas. Our meetings include a wide variety of activities from worship, flag dancing and drama, craft, looking at what the Bible has to teach us about God and prayer, plus lots of fun, laughter and fellowship, and, of course, refreshments! Tonbridge Causeway is part of, and supported by, an international organisation called PROSPECTS, which values and supports people with learning disabilities so that they live their lives to the full. PROSPECTS operates both in the UK and now in Eastern Europe, as well as looking to establish new partnerships in other countries further afield. In the UK there are over 100 groups nationwide with a wide variety of activities organised throughout the year including regional Celebrations, weeks away, sponsored walks, holidays and various social activities. If you are interested please feel free to just come along or contact TBC for further information. Helpers, supporters and new members are always welcome.
